OpenMadeDistributed Manufacturing

How OpenMade works

A distributed marketplace where customers order 3D-printed parts, a network of independent makers produces them, and designers earn every time their model ships.

For customers

From order to doorstep

You don't need a printer, filament, or any technical knowledge — a real maker handles the rest.

Step 1

Browse the store

Find a model you want printed, or upload your own STL or 3MF file. Every custom upload runs through the printability checker first, so you know before you pay whether it'll actually print cleanly.

Step 2

Configure your order

Choose your material, quantity, and any custom options. You see the full price before you check out.

Step 3

Routed to a maker

Your order goes to a real maker on the platform — someone printing on their own equipment, not a factory line.

Step 4

Printed and shipped

The maker produces your part and ships it directly to you. You can track your order and leave a review once it's fulfilled.

For makers

Print on your own equipment, earn per order

Apply with your printer setup and materials, get approved, and start receiving orders in your dashboard. You print, mark orders as shipped, and earn a flat, predictable amount per order — no bidding, no chasing payment.

For designers

Upload once, earn on every sale

Upload your models and they go live in the store after a quick review. When an order for your design is completed and shipped, you're paid automatically — at the same time as the maker who printed it, no separate licensing agreements, no manual invoicing.

For suppliers

Sell materials and hardware to the network

List your materials, equipment, and hardware in the store's Supplies & Hardware section — ships directly from you, with a Verified Supplier badge once you've been tested. Every supplier also gets a public directory profile, and can apply for featured placement in The Catalog.
