Open by name.
Open by intent.
OpenMade is a distributed manufacturing marketplace built on a simple idea: the people doing the work should keep the largest share of the value they create. Everything else follows from that.
The origin
Why OpenMade exists
Home manufacturing machines have come a long way. What used to require a factory floor can now sit on a desk in a spare bedroom — and the people running them are producing work that rivals professional output. The problem isn't capability. It's that there's no straightforward way for a hobbyist to turn that capability into a retail outlet without it becoming a second job.
OpenMade exists to solve that. Makers bring the machines and the skill. The platform handles the storefront, the order routing, and the customer side — so makers can stay focused on what they actually enjoy: making. Designers upload a model once and earn a cut every time an order for it ships — paid out alongside the maker, instead of chasing one-off licensing deals.
A community of makers, designers, and customers — each one contributing something real — is more powerful than any single platform. OpenMade is the connective tissue. The hard work is already out there. This is where it comes together.
