“at first sight II” presents 16:03:27, a 300 copy limited edition book.
Each copy is numbered and signed by the artist Denise Lira-Ratinoff.
This book explores the concept of time and questions the public awareness of the importance of time through images of glaciers.
Drawn and sculpted by the ocean and the wind, these dramatic natural shapes immortalized by photography will never be captured again. They are ephemeral witnesses of the receding and disappearing ice fields.
Not knowing for how long, is the mystery of time. At the crossroad where life and death meet and from a different perception, this book invites us to see what will no longer exist and what already has melted.
On March 8, 2008 at 6 PM, during a 6 hours limited time photo-installation in Atlanta, Georgia, 16:03:27 will be launched and available for purchase, from book 1 to 300 on a first come, first serve basis, simultaneously at the photo-installation and through this website.
At the end of the 6 hour photo-installation and when the 300th copy of the book is sold, 16:03:27 will never again be available.
